This month we have an author’s spotlight!

Stephen King, also named as the “King of Horror”, is a best-selling author. He is known for his supernatural fiction, fantasy, suspense and crime books, including Carrie, It, and The Shining, to name a few. Check out the King of Horror’s famous works today, just in time for spooky season!

Take a look at some of our new children’s books! Some seasonal, some based on reading level, and some just because we know you would love them!

College Corner

Having some trouble finding a book for college classes? We may have you covered! Take a look at our College Corner and see if we have what you need.

We also carry studying materials for students taking the SAT. Need a quiet space to study? We can help there too! We have plenty of table space for you or even a study group.

Programs

Knitting is now every Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the Adams Center Free Library! Give us a call at 315-583-5501 if you would like more information. You don’t have to knit to join. Crochet and other needle arts are welcome.

We have child and teen programs including: summer reading, Teen Sip & Paint, and Movie Mondays!

We are working on a Lego Club starting in October and we are also planning an event with a local business- Shedlight Organics! Be sure to check out our Facebook for more updates to come!

If there are any suggestions you may have for any other programs, please let us know! We are always looking to bring our community together!

Changes

Our new system, Polaris, is up and running! We appreciate your patience while we are learning how to use this new program!

Along with this, comes a change in our Overdrive App. Overdrive will be retiring, and Libby App will be taking over. Look for the icon below in your app store!

Vega is the name of our new cataloging system too. Many changes are taking place, but we are always available to help the best we can with any questions or concerns you may have!

Books On the Way

The first three books in A Wicked Villain’s Series by Katee Robert are now here! Stop in and check them out!

If you are a crime junky or a fan of Mary Stone, a popular author at our library, be sure to check out her newest series that piggybacks her Winter Black Series! We have book one and the other two are on the way!

We have more Colleen Hoover titles as well, including her latest novel: Too Late!

Check out some of our new Young Adult books as well!

If you have any book suggestions, please let one of the staff know and we will do our best to order it or see if another library may carry it!

We appreciate you!

On May 16th the South Jefferson school budget vote passed, and our library was on the ballot this year to raise monies due to increased costs over the last couple of years. Thank you to our community for coming out and supporting our library by passing the school budget this year and voting yes for the Adams Center Free Library funding.

We would also like to thank the Northern New York Community Foundation for supporting our goal in awarding us $4,500 towards new computers and technology. We are so grateful for their generous gift and look forward to using it to enhance the lives of our patrons! We are also offering one-on-one basic computer skills teaching. Call for an appointment. We are excited to offer this new service to those just starting out with technology.

If you need anything, always reach out to us on our Facebook page through messenger. We will get back to you as soon as we can! You may also email us at jworden@ncls.org.

Thanks so much!
